Crime in our Neighborhood!
Quest Village is very fortunate in the fact that we have not experienced any significant amount of crime of illegal activities within our neighborhood as of January 31, 2002.
As of this update, the activities that HAVE been noted and reported to officials are:
September 2001
Miscellaneous drug paraphernalia was found in the Quest Village Park at the corner of Discovery Boulevard and Stallion Drive. The paraphernalia was used for marijuana. Police were notified but there are no suspects. No other items have been reported as having been found since this time.
September - November 2001
There were a number of homeowners that reported large rocks being thrown at the back of their homes while they were at home in the evenings. These incidents were reported by many homeowners and usually occurred between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The majority of victims received no property damage, however, one family did suffer a broken window while another such family not only had a window broken, but their young son was actually hit by the rock. Cedar Park Police spoke with a reported teenage suspect (who was NOT a neighborhood resident) and the incidents immediately stopped. No further incidents reported.
Current
It has been reported by many residents that there is an excessive amount of speeding along Paso Fino Drive. Many meetings have been held about this subject and the Cedar Park Police have been consulted. A radar trailer has been put on the road to measure the speed of the drivers and warning citations have been issued. Traffic calming (in this area as well as others) is being discussed between both the Quest Village HOA and the Cedar Park City Council.
NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAM
Quest Village has recently begun the process of implementing an ACTIVE Neighborhood Watch Program. This is being done in conjunction with both the Cedar Park Police Department as well as the Maintenance and Security Committee. For more information on this program, please contact the program coordinator Mrs. Tina Erales.
