Liddiard Management Company
Many questions have arisen as to why the Quest Village HOA uses a management company such as Liddiard Management and why we have to pay them. This page is designed to answer some of these questions.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What is Liddiard Management?
Liddiard Management is a locally-owned company in Austin that specializes in the professional management and maintenance of regulatory issues related to various Homeowner and Neighborhood Associations, including legal, clerical, and financial. The company itself has been around since 1992 and represents over 40 different Associations in the Austin and surrounding metro area.
Why does the HOA use a management company at all?
We use an outside management company for a variety of reasons. To begin with, participation on the HOA and its associated committees is completely voluntary and the participants receive absolutely no type of financial compensation for their efforts. With this in mind, there are a great many things that are required of the HOA for which the Board does not have experience or expertise and which, if omitted or performed incorrectly, could have serious legal impacts for the HOA as a whole. The management company handles such issues as annual tax filings for non-profit organizations (which can be VERY complicated), legal counsel, dues assessments and collection, clerical and administrative issues, record archival and documentation, financial considerations etc.

Are there any other companies in Austin that do the same thing?
Yes, there are other companies which provide this same service, however, there is no real savings in cost from one company to the next. In addition, Liddiard Management has provided a consistently high level of service and the HOA is extremely satisfied with the service that they are providing.
Is there any benefit to using a management company?
Absolutely! As a volunteer organization, we all have full-time occupations and lack the professional expertise to internally manage many of the issues that Liddiard takes care of for us. It is very doubtful that any Homeowner's or Neighborhood Association could function successfully without an outside resource such as this.
Who is the Quest Village contact at Liddiard Management?
How much does it cost to use a management company?
The budget is currently under review at this time, but generally speaking, the annual cost of using a management company is around $25,000.
