Basketball Goals - Use and Restrictions...
Many questions have been directed to the HOA concerning the use of basketball goals (especially 'portable' goals) due to the fact that many residents seem to have a misunderstanding of how the Deed Restrictions are written on this issue and what is expected within Quest Village.
To summarize, both portable and permanently installed basketball goals ARE allowed under Section 3.13 of the Deed Restrictions ( Unsightly Articles) assuming that they comply with certain standards. Permanent basketball goals MUST be authorized IN WRITING by the Architectural Committee prior to installation. If installed without written authorization from the Architectural Committee, the property will be considered out of compliance with the Deed Restrictions ( Section 3.13) and enforcement procedures will be initiated. For information regarding the requirements for permanently installed basketball goals, please e-mail Greg Veldman at Liddiard Management or call the Liddiard offices at (512) 219-1927.
NOTE: THE DEED RESTRICTIONS DO NOT PROHIBIT THE USE OF PORTABLE BASKETBALL GOALS.
The issue arises when residents choose to use a portable basketball goal and then refuse to put it away when it is no longer in use. It is intentionally left out for days, weeks, or months to the detriment of other residents and the rest of Quest Village and then the enforcement procedure begins. The HOA in no way prohibits the use of these items, we simply ask that residents have consideration for others and that those families with basketball goals comply with the Deed Restrictions that have been adopted by Quest Village.
